Impact of complicated births on the condition of the spine in children and adults

During any normal birth, and even more so during more difficult births, the cervical spine is under a lot of stress. This gives rise to possibilities of damage to paravertebral tissues, intervertebral discs, violation of their fixing properties. This, in turn, leads to periodic involvement of the vertebral arteries, disturbance in the blood circulation of the brain stem and changes in the autonomic nervous system.

It has been proven that the participation in the process of the higher autonomic centers determines the clinical picture that occurs with this functional pathology from the gastrointestinal tract, bronchial and other systems. In these cases, measures of adequate impact include correction of the spine. An analysis of 5,000 children shows that 87% of newborns have a functional blockage at the level of the first cervical vertebra and the base of the skull, associated with disorders in organs and systems. In connection with this, there is an opinion that already at birth, there should be a vertebrologist specialist next to the obstetrician-gynecologist, who could immediately remedy such disorders.

The works of I. and B. Dvorak show the interrelationship between the different sections of the spine, as a primary disorder at any level leads to changes in the remaining segments of the spine, paravertebral tissues and / or even organs and systems that are functionally related to these sections of the spine.

Clinical observations and experimental data show that congenital defects of the cervical spine, including displacement of its individual fragments, lead to disorders in the blood circulation of the spinal cord and brain, secondary disorders and innervation of the esophagus, stomach, intestines, respiratory roads. This manifests itself in the form of functional disturbances of the esophagus, stomach and colon (nausea, constipation, vomiting), chronic bronchitis. When studying the indicators of the activity of the diaphragmatic nerves (according to data from electromyography) in children with bronchial asthma, a change in the frequency of impulses along these nerves, as well as in the intercostal respiratory muscles, was observed.

From this point of view, both the mechanism of maintaining the pathological process between the spinal segments and the body, as well as the mechanism of indirect impact on a given organ by means of spine therapy through the Vertora method can be explained. The need for spinal correction in these children is obvious. But the applied methods of impact can be different. Currently, most specialists indicate that performing manual therapy manipulation procedures on the cervical spine in children is dangerous because unwanted complications are possible. An analysis of 1,834 cases showed that manual therapy was contraindicated in 4.1% (anomaly of Kimmerli et al.). In this regard, the stretching method as part of the Vertora therapy is most suitable for the correction of spinal pathologies in children, especially when localization of disorders in the cervical vertebrae. The positive effect of the therapy both directly on the spine (paravertebral tissues) and on the relevant affected organs is proven.

In this regard, in the complex of therapeutic interventions for children with vertebral pathology, as a primary or concomitant disease to eliminate disorders in the spine, it is recommended to apply the Vertora therapy method.
